- Songs of Inspiration is the Country
Music Hall of Fame band's first new album in over five years, the first
since the band's farewell tour wrapped up in October 2004, and the first
album with inspirational content in the group's history. Included are
classics like "Rock of Ages," "How Great Thou Art," "The Old Rugged
Cross," "Amazing Grace," "His Eye Is On The Sparrow," "In The Garden"
and more. The enduring Christmas classic "Silent Night" was also recorded for the album.Says Randy, "We recorded two Christmas albums, but we never cut that song. It fit the project, and it's beautiful!" |

in Nashville Randy joined Florida native and RCA artist Jake Owen at
Nashville's Tracking Room Studio for a duet recording of "Thank
Dixie" which will appear on Jake's debut CD. The recording is scheduled
for a summer release on the RCA label. |

their American Farewell Tour performance at the Leon Civic Center
in Tallahassee, FL. (more
pictures) Specialist Sparkman’s unit was activated December 26, 2002, and served a year in Iraq. The unit has been involved in policing Baghdad since major war operations ceased and returned home to Tallahassee in February, 2004. Alabama acknowledged the efforts of Specialist Sparkman and the others who have served our country in combat. On March 23, 2004, Alabama will receive the USO of Metropolitan Washington 2004 Merit Award for the group’s distinguished dedication and support of the men and women of the United States military. On January 15 – 17 Randy Owen again served in his official capacity as founder and host of the “Country Cares for St. Jude Kids” seminar in Memphis. This year’s event marked the 15th anniversary of Country Cares which was inspired by a challenge Randy made to the broadcasters at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville in 1989. To date, over 200 country radio stations across America participate in Country Cares radiothons annually having helped to raise well over 200 million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in its ongoing battle and research against childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases. |

Teddy appears in a solo acoustic performance to benefit the DeKalb Children's Advocacy Center on Valentine's Day. Teddy began by saying "Children are our most precious resource" and then opened the Saturday night fund-raiser with three original crowd pleasing compositions. |

| 16 June Jam festivals for charity leave a lasting legacy in Alabama's home town, Fort Payne. This year the June Jam Songwriter's Showcase (7:30 pm June 11th DeKalb Theatre Fort Payne) and the Randy Owen Celebrity Golf Tournament (June 12th Hampton Cove, AL) carry on that tradition.
