Sunday night (March 16, 2003) - Alabama said, “Hello Houston” - Texas Size at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™. Alabama's Reliant Stadium Rodeo performance sold 69,052 tickets, giving Alabama the 2nd highest attendance figure in RODEOHOUSTON™ history. * Five 2003 RodeoHouston performances had paid attendance in excess of 68,000 – Monday, March 3, featuring Tim McGraw (68,148); Friday, March 7, featuring LL Cool J and Ashanti (68,505); Sunday, March 9, featuring Intocable and Los Tres Amigos (70,405); Wednesday, March 12, featuring Bon Jovi (68,232); and Sunday, March 16, featuring Alabama (69,052). During the concert Alabama lead vocalist Randy Owen, on behalf of the band, saluted our service men and women in uniform both abroad and at home as well as President George W. Bush. Also in attendance at Sunday night’s performance was the President’s father, former President George H. W. Bush. RodeoHouston’s Production Manager Graeme Lagden of Davis Entertainment said, “It was a great event and we are very pleased to end up on such a high note”. Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Dan Gattis said, "Closing our first year in Reliant Stadium with Alabama's American Farewell Tour was especially fitting since we were both celebrating the end of a very successful run. With a paid attendance of 69,052 (the second highest ever for RodeoHouston) and a concert that featured all the hits, the enthusiastic fans stayed until the very last note."
